MY CPU has been running warm lately...122f under load, 114 idle.... Well i decided to play with my 2 120mm Panaflo's... I had one as intake one exhaust... Both are on the side panel blowing on the motherboard. Turned the one so it was blowing in also.... Temps now.... 110f under load, 102 idle. Those 2 fans must have been fighting each other. My case temp also dropped about 4f and the PSU temp dropped 2... I'm gonna cut a hole in the front of my case and install a 92mm fan and make it exhaust so i can get some movement out of the case. Right now the only fan going out is the PSU fan.

Sweet!! I wanna add some 120mm above my processor, that would help soo much. I have 3 fans in front bringing air in, 2 in back bringing out, all 80mm.

Be careful wit those 120mm fans.... I had one in the front of my case blowing in, and it sounded like a bus was running in my room. It was very loud, and very annoying.

You could get a quieter 120mm fan couldn't you? Or is it because of the flow restriction of most case bezels?

I have 2 120 mm Panaflo's that are super quiet... All i hear is the jet engine on the cpu

When you have one fan Blowing in and one out placed close to each other, you'll have an air "ShortCut" and most of it won't reach the MB !!!
You should design the air way inside your case carefully, i'm not sure a 92mm blowing out is necessery... it won't overcome the two 120mm anyway and will just add more noise... i'm sure the air can find himself a way out from the case...

BTW- the panaflow L1A's are really quite !!! i have few of them 120 and 92 mm and they'r great !!! don't take the H1A they nosit and even though they move some more air, it's not worthy...

Hmmmmm, I understand..

I was thinking about putting 1 or 2 120mm fans on my left side. One would be exactly above my processor, and other one (if there is one) would be lower. If my out-take fans are around the corner (next to the IO port) would it do this same thing? If I added the fans, they would only be about 1-3 inches away from the corner.

Well then, something to think about:
If you'll put a 120mm Fan directly above the CPU it may "fight" the CPU fan causing some additional noise.. especially if you use an ALPHA HSF combo where the air moves the opposite way...
i think the better way is intake fans as low as possible, preferbly one over the PCI cards and one from the front, blowing on the drives. and the Output fans as high as possible, one will be in the PSU and one at the top
This way, the air movement inside your case is more natural (hot air goes up) and harmonic meanning more performance in less noise...you could even use less current (7V or a Rheustate) because of a better designd case...

i'm running a perfectly stable system pretty quite and in -25C CPU !!!

Well, my fan on my heatsink, blow INTO the heatsink, not out. I am using the SK6, hence that way gives you the best performance. What would be the most important spots to cool? I will take some pictures of the inside of my case to give you an idea of how clear my case is. My athlon 1.33ghz @ 1.33 GHZ runs at around 112F idle, and 122F active. It does get hot, and I still want to overclock!

When ya use a peltier you can get them that cold... Most of us around here don't need to go to those kind of extreme's to get 200-300 more mhz out of our chips... As 40c isn't that hot and don't hurt the chip anyways... My AMD @ 1.6 has ran as high as 55C on a hot day and still stable as hell. Nice looking case and some cool mods but if you ask me its way overdone. How high does that 700e overclock anyways? I couldn't find anything about that.

Winters do the best for me ........sitting here at 33c at 1600mhz 2 volts ........H2o helps alot in summer and winter.

Think of the temperature of the air you want to exhaust/inhale:
Top-back of the case: warm air caused by the PSU, harddrives making hot air rise.
soulution: put a fan exhausting the hot air from the computer.

Low-front of the case: hot air is rising so here is a good spot to put a blower so the cold air will stream trough the motherboard/pcu.
soulution: put a fan blow the cool air into the case.

Gibson, I agree with you on this , heat rises and the psu is at the top of the case and it is going to generate alot of heat, what you want to try and do is create a good flow throught your case having even amounts of intake as well as output, well thats how I see it at least if you were to put a 120 ( ys-tech is farking LOUD) on the fron I would smak one down on the very top blowing out the hot air

Well i have plenty of intake fans 2 120mm's on the side... I can't put a fan in the top of my case due to the lack of room so an exhaust in the front won't hurt much i don't think... Its better than nothing and still drawing warmer air out of the case.
