Laptop cooling

Post by bitSLAP »

Well I've had this laptop for not even a week and I have the tweaking itch...

I opened it up today, and noticed that there is a silvery thermal pad between the hsf and the cpu. Think I should slap some Arctic Silver on there? I'm thinking better cooling means longer battery life.

It's a Gateway Solo 1150 with a Celeron 650.

I doubt it'll really increase battery runtime though it won't hurt either. The cooling should be good enough that the cooling fan rarely runs, only under full load or close to it.
