I was using WinOnCD but there's no update anymore and Win Xp won't even let me start it. :(

So what are you using? I want something very user friendly.

Thanks

I'm using cloneCD as well as this prog that came with an Acer burner I got for a guy. Veritas is the software mgr and the Prog is called Prassi Primo CD Plus 2.0 ( English ) . Just thought I'd try it and it works pretty damn nice with XP. :) Recognized both my opticals and burns on the fly like a charm.

I'm using Easy CD Creator 5 and CloneCD. CD-R Win and Fireburner and other programs that require ASPI will probably work but I personally haven't got them running, mainly cause I don't wanna fool w/ ASPI.

I have been using Nero also with no problems. Clone CD works great as usual and I've had no problem with the newest version of Blindwrite. As long as you install the newer version of Blindwrite or CDRWin it will handle all you ASPI issues from what I can tell.

Good luck burning

Which version of Nero are you guys using? I tried 5.5.5.1 and not only didn't it recognize my dvdrom and cdrw but after installing it XP didn't recognize them either ! doh ! Had to unistall Nero and do a system restore to get things peachy again. :(

dvdrom = Toshiba SDM-1502 16x/48x
cdrw = Plextor 12/10/32 ( IDE )

Vidman I am using nero version 5.5.5.1 in XP pro with no problem. I had a problem simular to what you described once when I had EZ CD 4 installed and then tried to instal nero. All of a sudden I could not see either my DVD or my CD burner. This was in Win2k. Anyway I know of at least three systems that are running Nero 5.5.5.1 with XP just fine but none of them have EZ CD.

hmmmmmmm... thanks. Might be that Primo CD 2.0 that's installed causing the prob. I'll try uninstalling that first and then try Nero again.

Thanks for the info. :)

Nero works a lot better with the "compatiblity" patch from MS as well as the current patch from Ahead.

I had a similar problem with all my cdrs disappearing but I had installed first Nero 5.5.5.1 and it happened when I installed EZ CD 5 Platinum. I thought the problem was with the Adaptec software but maybe they just don't like to coexist with Nero.

The burnware built into XP is lisenced from Roxio (aka EZCD). EZCD 5 Platinum worked alright in XP Pro but CDRWin ate XP for lunch. I even had the ASPI support installed. It finally booted into a BSD that I hadn't seen before: Fatal Memory Dump, and it never ran again.
I just went back to 98SE. That Bill Gates is a real GOAT BREEDER!!!(the un-natural way). I think I'll wait 'till the fixes come out before I try that again. With all that's going on at MicroShaft, I'll bet he released early to hit the deadline (anyone remember Win95's fiasco?)

Besides, I'm waiting on my peripheral manufacturers to pull their heads out and get some drivers made...right.

I just extracted ME's icons to dress up the desktop a little, and It's way more stable in my humble oppinion. (despite what Microshaft's independent tester said)

I stopped using my EZCD5 Platnium a while ago, it's at the bottom of a stack of cd's I have under my desk.

I been using Nero, version 5.5.5.6. and before that, I was using ver. 5.5.4.4 in XP and had no problems, both versions work perfectly.

Nero does everything I need, and for what it can't do, I use "Ole Reliable", CloneCD ;)

I use the newest version of Nero, is there anything better in CloneCD? Everyone seems to prefer Clone to Nero.
