Currently I am running Win98SE on my C partition which is 13.9 gigs. I am using a little over 4.5gigs of it. I still have about 1gig of games that I want to install on here, so I figure my C partition is going to have to be 6gigs at the least. I will probably make it 7. I store the 1.5gigs of Mp3s that I have on this partition as well. My D partition is a little over 2 gigs. It is my burn partition. My whole hard-dive is 17.2gigs, but with fileings systems it is more like 16gigs. What I want to do is install Windows2000 server (120 day version) and Linux Mandrake 7.1, along with Win98 SE. I have spent a few hours and backed up ALL of my stuff, so formatting, fdisk, whatever I have to do isn't a problem. I want to do a tri-boot system. I guess I just need about a gig or 2 of extra space each for my linux and Windows2000 partitions for programs/saved stuffs. Unless I can game in Linux faster than in Windows I don't think I am gonna do that. If I save all my MP3s on my fat32 partition then Linux and Win2000 will both be able to see and play them still right? So I won't have to be wasting 3 gigs to store them on all 3 partitions instead of just one. Also I am still gonna need to have a burn partition. If I make it Fat32 will Win2000 also be able to use it as a burn partition if I decide to make a few cds from Win2k? Last question! How in the world do I get my earthlink account to work in Linux??
Thanx,
Frost.
Whats gonna be the best way to do this??
just a suggestion
Just a suggestion.Go with Mandrake 7.2 instead of 7.1.It's got KDE2 and some other improvements.
As for Earthlink you should be able to set it up in Linux using your username, password,DNS server and e-mail information. If your new to linux a great place to start is http://www.linuxnewbie.orgRead some of their NHF's for alot of useful info.

Yeah you can update it but its better to do a fresh install.Just when you install dont format your /home dir and your prefs should remain untouched(i know this is true re-installing the same version you had but not sure about going from one version to another).
