I dunno wut happend when I started my computer this morning in the bios it showed the following messages: "AwardBoot block bios V1.0", "Bios ROM checksum error", and "please insert system disk and press enter" cuz of this i can't start windwos. I've tried to reset the bios by setting the jumpers no help. I also tried reflashing the bios but i forget the procedure can anyone tell me the procedure and what's wrong wit mah motherboard? Could it be fried bios chip, or do i have to start looking for a new mobo?

Abit BXR2.2 motherboard
P3 650@806
Micron PC-100 SDRAM
V3 3000

Sounds like your CMOS got scrambled and you lost the settings for you hard drive.
Set all BIOS settings to default in the BIOS menu and make sure the hard drive controllers are enabled, and set to detect you hard drives (set all drives to auto).
I don't think you need to reflash. The procedure for each mobo is different. Download the lastest flash bios and bios installer from the abit site and read the instructions there.

Do u have java enabled? Having it disabled or something stopping pop ups will block their instructions because they appear in a pop up window from abit. Try your other browsers if u need to, otherwise I might can copy it and send to you. lmk

boot disk only gave me options to setup win98 from scratch, start computer wit cdrom support and start computer without cd rom support. but it also got me to dos. I havent tried any of the options yet because i'm afriad it'll erase my whole hd.
