After just a week with my new laptop, I turned it on and the cursors is working backwards, up is down, left is right, etc...What have I done, or what can I do to fix this problem??

Sounds like something that might be a 'known' problem and calling the manufacturer might get you a patch... but short of that I'd try uninstalling the mouse driver and reinstalling it.
