im planning on getting one of those nice antec truepower psu's but ive always been confused on how much wattage i need. my setup looks like this: P4 1.6A hopefully overclocked to sumtin like 2.4, a geforce4 ti, mabye about 2-4 case fans, seagate barracuda IV, dvd-rom, cd-rw, floppy, and a light or two. right now i think the true430 is good for me but is it too much? or should i go with the true330? also, how loud are those cause i heard they are wicked quiet, but does anyone know a dBa rating or sumtin? or mabye a comparison of some object that makes sound (a fly mabye? hehe)

Well, I know the Enermax FMA's kick major ass. My 5v rail is almost always around 5.05-5.1. MUCH better in comparison to older VE models. AND, this baby is SILENT! Before, my old Antec 400w was louder than my whole case combined. Not only that, the FMA has a fan adjuster on the back to adjust the 80mm's fan speed. You can get up to half way without the sound increasing, but anywhere past that, and it gets noisy. Great PSU in my opinion. (Thanks to LoneWolf for letting me know how well FMA's performed. :D )

However, I have also heard that the Antec's are "not-so-quiet." I like the ability to set the fan speed to my own liking, and not relying on temperatures..

But, it all depends on your case fans.. Right now I probably have a computer around 25-27 DBA all the time (29-32dba when on high). I got the 350w version, works fine for me.

BTW, I would get the 430 w version, just to be safe. :D

Go Antec... Enermax has some quality control issues. 350 Watts for a P4 system should be more than enough. I just pulled my P4 and mobo out today and put my XP setup back in... The P4 ran fine on my generic 350W supply with 4 case fans 2 maxtor hard drives a DVD and a burner... If yer lookin' for a P4 1.6a that will do 2.4 and a damn good board i have one for sale :)
