Logitech Wingman Force install HELL!!

Post by Zak33 »

OK, decided to go flying on my mates PC! want a bit of IL2 Sturmovik! Who doesn't?

System: Elite Group K7S5A mobo with Duron 1gig (not overclocked) 128mb PC100, Radeon 64mb DDR, Live Value. Win98SE, with Microsoft USB patch(!)

He's got a Logitech Wingman Force (about 9 months old) aint used it since he had a Celeron system. Plugged it in, USB port picked it up (mouse icon wirled).....

in with the disk, install, reboot........ DESKTOP JUST FREEZES

Have to reboot to Safe mode, ADD/Remove Logitech in Control Panel.reboot.......PC works fine.

Sadly I have tried :Add Joystick in Game Devices, Picked it out of the Logitech list, and as soon as I hit Next...lock up.

So lets try with no Joystick..just the software..it used to work on his previous PC.

Nope, install...OK......reboot......OK and gets to desktop.....LOCKED.

Anyone got a clue...please!
A little crazy, but safe enough

I have one of those. I think I installed whatever the latest driver release from their website was. You install it first and I believe that at some point in the install it will tell you when to hook up the stick.

If I was you I would uninstall everything releated to the stick and delete everything from the device manager pertaining to the stick. Then install the software and do what it says.

I have to go into Safe Mode to uninstall........cos it wont make it into Windows fully otherwise. I think it may be the Live Card...cos its just when the little speaker in the bottom system tray is due to arrive, indicatind Volum Control.........just when that is about to arrive, it locks.

hmm
