doing a fresh install on a system my cousan and I are putting togeather for her science fair.

Its a pretty retro system.

K6-2 350
128 ram
msi board with agp, 4 pci, and 3 isa.
radeon 8500
netgear nic
CL live 5.1

Everything was going fine till i installed the drivers for the live. Time to Format again...arg.

Creative makes decent hardware..but their drivers/software is EVIL. I've had so many IRQ sharing conflicts, BSOD's, and other junk from their products that I will never ever buy their crap again. I currently use a Turtle Beach Santa Cruz and plan on switching to an M-Audio card in the future.

The Live has major issues with PCI IRQ Channel sharing. If you have problems (lockups, random reboots, etc) move it to another slot.

Better yet, throw that Live card away and buy a $15 C-Media card.
