I just got a replacement 60GB harddrive from Maxtor. I installed it as a 2nd drive (first is similar Maxtor 60GB) and while booting the bios says there are 2 hdds. However, When I open "My Computer" only the C drive appears. The same when I open Ghost. Only one drive appears.
I have tried setting the jumpers as master/slave and also tried setting both to cable select. I get the same results. Also, whatever order I plug in the IDE cable makes no difference either. Any ideas?

Drive is unformatted and unpartitioned from the factory. It will not appear inMy Computer until it's partitioned.
If you're running XP go to Administrative Tools->Computer Management->Disk Management
The unpartitioned drive will appear in there.
Right click on it to partition and format.
If you'll be using it for video work you'll want to make it NTFS.

or if you've got a good 'ol 98 cd or boot flopyy lying around, boot up off that baby and run fdisk!
or better yet... if all's lost... donate the drive to moi! hehe

Nope! Doesn't appear.

You looking in the right place in Disk Management? It will not appear in the top window since it doesn't have a partition and thus can't have a drive letter associated with it yet. It'll appear in the bottom as an unpartitioned drive.
Okay, you CERTAIN it's detected by BIOS? If BIOS can't see it Windows won't either.
Is it connected to the second IDE port, and is it the only device on this port. If so it's possible that the port is enabled in BIOS but disabled in XP's device manager. Open device manager and make sure the secondary IDE port is enabled and not giving you an erro. Then open the "Disk Drives" in device manager and make sure both hard drives are installed.
