Odd BIOS function

My friend is running an MSI 694D.

He used to freeze very often in Quake 3. But he fiddled in the BIOS and came across "AGP Driving Control", it was defautly set to auto, but changing it to manual allowed him to choose between a bunch of hex values.

He chose DC and magically he doesn't freeze in Quake 3 anymore.

Anyone have a clue what that option did?
