It seems that the tracer wire in the plastic (2 sheets, one over the other) had some burnt spots. I guess this was caused from use. I sanded the burnt areas with 2500 grit wet or dry sand paper. IT WORKS!!!!! I am typing with it now. For how long, I don't know but for now I is a happy camper. S e e , s p a c e s
I am willing pay someone to try and hopefully fix my keyboard. It's an older keyboard. The control and backspace keys don't work. Maybe it can't be fixed, don't know. This is a special keyboard with arrow keys on the left hand side of the board. makes gaming a lot easier for someone who has dysfunctional fingers.
I had the board apart but couldn'y see anything physicaly wrong with it. I am thinking maybe it's electronic.
Any takers?

AT Membrain keypad I guess. It has a rubber like pad over 2 layers of thin plastic that has tracer wire in it.

I kinda know how they work.. and i think i fixed somthing like it once... but it had pop all in it and it still didnt work right when it was "fixed". but it could just be worn and not repaiable, then again it could be dirty and just need a good cleaning. If nobody else wants to try i guess i could.

Thats what happened, pop on it. I did the ussual cleaning of it, run it through luke warm water, let it dry for a day. I'll take it apart one more time and see if I can brake it more.
Like you said, it's probably wore out.
Wish I could find one like it. I've looked for the last year but haven't seen anything like it. Bought it at walmart about 8 years ago.
Thanks.

Worth a try, put it in the top part of the dishwasher upside down, really.......... don't use soap. I do this about once a year, run it through a cycle, don't hot air dry it though. Take it out, shake out excess water and let it dry a couple days. Been using the same old mechanical switch type AT keyboard for at least 9 or 10 years......

I've done the dishwasher trick before. This time I just lightly scrubbed it down in the sink. The problem started when I decided to scare my cat, who was sleeping on my desk. Bad move on my part...half a Dew dumped on the keyboard.
The board is made by BTC. I've emailed them in the past, several times but never got a response.
Thanks for the help ya'll.
