I just ordered the Plextor 32X/12X/10X EIDE CD-RW.

I have questions on how to set this up.

Currently I have a Abit BE6-II. It has two ATA/66 connectors as well as the two IDE connectors on MB. Here is my setup.

ATA/66 1 - Two HDD's (master and slave)
ATA/66 2 - Nothing

IDE 1 - Kenwood 72X and 250 Zip (master and slave)
IDE 2 - Nothing

HDD's are drives C and D.
Zip Drive is drive E
Kenwood CD is drive F

I assume I am to connect the Plextor on IDE 2 by itself?

Will it automatically assign itself as drive G?

Will there be any problems with that setup such as the two CD's working independently of each other?

Thats probably how I would set mine up if I had that setup.
I would say that your theoretic setup would be the least problematic than having both cd drives on the same cable, but not that that should be a problem either.

As far as the drive letters.... G:, maybe/probably.

The pc will work it out when you boot it.

CDRs are usually a breeze to install.

In your case, I'd setup the CDR as the secondary master. Windows theoretically should assign it letter G:, but with windows, all bets are off. Even if it rearranges your drive letters, no problems should arise. Make sure you set the jumpers on the CDR right!
