ugh...fixing a pc from a smoker

ick. :d runk

for the non-smokers out there...you know what i'm talking about! as soon as i got near the case i could smell the smoke...then when i cracked it open it smelled hideous! stale, nasty smoke. after turning it on and getting the fans in it going my whole home office/repair area reaks!

bleh!

unfortunately for me...the owner is hot, so i can't NOT fix it. hehehe :p

Anyways. I opened up a case once to find a nest of Cockroaches.

I've noticed it when I buy used parts on the for sale forums. As soon as I have the bubble wrap off the item, I can smell it a mile away.

That bs really peeses me off. :mad Smokers NEED to clean the parts off. Most don't.

Some leave dust/built-up crud on them too.

All it takes is a simple soft paintbrush to remove the crud, or wiping gently with alcohol to remove the smoke.


Got a cheapy laptop from one that wreaked of smoke even after I cleaned it many times. The case, the box, wrappings all wreaked holey hell smoke. :grr But most can't smell the smoke since they are so use to it.


Smokers, please think of non-snokers. ;) :) And clean the dirty parts too. geez Think :forpeace

I smoke and can smell smoke on used parts and don't care for it that much either. I am also trying to quit.....need more welbutrin.

looks like a hit a nerve! woohoo! :D

there is a dude at work that used to smoke like a chimney...everyone would bitch at him for stinking like a used car salesman...and he never knew how bad because he was so used to it. he quit recently and now he complains about other smokers. i always remind him how much he stunk. hahahaha

I usually leave them running im my gurage for a few days. that usually helps some and I often sit a car tree infront of it.

Webutrin works great..Haven't smoked in over 2 years :Y

It was some people who lived by a pond here in LA.
The thing was they were not really nasty people, I guess the roaches were looking for a place to nest that was warm??

My brother used to smoke cigarettes and other things not to be mentioned....
Needless to say, when he gave me back the computer that I had loaned him after he finally gave me money to build him one of his own....it not only reeked, but it also had a thick layer of black "dust" on every component. I quickly donated that computer to Goodwill, as I didn't want to take the time to clean the entire inside of the PC and I just didn't want to mess with the smell.
