Am I looking at this wrong or is the whole motherboard supposed to be oriented upside-down from a "normal" case?? :;

I have seen a few newer cases that do exactly that ..it seems to be a new trend kind off

I dont get the wind tunnel thing. Is that a solid tube between the two fans? How or what is it supposed to do?

Isnt that due to it being able support BTX motherboards?

The tunnel is hollow to allow air to flow through creating a "wind tunnel". How the mobo sits, the hottest parts (as john mentioned) will sit in that tunnel. Like the cpu, ram and nb chipset. A 120mm fan in front sux air in, while the 120mm rear fan sux air out, creating a wind tunnel effect. Keeping the surrounding air always cool. *Depending on room temp of course.

Right above the tunnel would be the video card, and in front there is a place for a 80mm fan that points in that direction (and other pci cards). And since the included psu has a bottom 92mm fan, that helps to suk out the remaining hot air.

Right below the psu is where the hard drives go.

And of course now we'll be opening cases from the other side. :)

At first I assumed this was a BTX only case. However...

Yep, standard size Phil. :)

And Enermax just emailed me saying this is an ATX case, BTX style.

Pretty cool.

But I think the coolest system I have seen so far was sunk in mineral oil in a clear case.
Something I ran acrossed with solar pannels. Keeping home built pannels cool and moisture out. Seems mineral oil does not conduct, corrode, or block sun. Someone posted a pic of their computer sitting in the stuff.

That is a neat case. Is that large dail looking thing a control for fans speeds?

Wow, you know what this means, right? It means our PCI and AGP cards will no longer be sitting in our cases upside down! :tongue

I'm liking that as my current server tower is somewhat tight with the newer mobo. Its PS plug is in a different location which means that I need to move my 3 HDDs to the top. It's do-able but not ideal. The HDDs are presently sitting outside the case as I need to locate a bracket for top mounting (and not ideal HDD cooling).

.....ahhhh, but not exactly inexpensive. Too bad it includes a PS as I've now got a new 550W PS.

It is Enermax variation of that barebone case, they only added different front comapared to other manufacturers who used that windtunnel barebone.
There's also the Silverstone Temjin TJ06 PC, which comes with fans and without PSU and has a different front but the inner parts are the same. There's a good review on SPCR > http://www.silentpcreview.com/article203-page1.html
I was looking into getting that one for my next PC though I recently changed my mind. Some minor issues are with the upside-down mounting and PSU length of the 4-pin 12V cable (often the connector on mobo sits near the bottom of the case) as well as the windtunnel limiting the selection of usable coolers, especially when you're looking at the monster coolers like XP-120 and passive ones like NC2000 or Thermaltake Fanless 103. Otherwise it's a very nice and quiet case.

The reason why I changed my mind the upcoming Antec P180 which has great potential for quiet highend cooling.
