thanks. just installed it and already like it better than 3.x. I had some issues with larger text on 3.x ( eyes shot ) and with 4 it seems to react better to the larger text I need. Now where did I put my glasses !! :-)

The new browser had been downloaded nearly three million times hours after it was made available online. Microsoft’s Internet Explorer 9 was downloaded 2.35 million times within the first 24 hours of its availability last week
who won ? hehehehe

Microsoft is going to regret not making IE9 compatible with XP. Although this OS is over 10 years old now, it's still very widely used.

I'm currently posting with FF4. I just noticed that if you are posting here in advanced the smiles on the right slow down when you click and begin trying in the message box.

______________________________

This doesn't happen with IE9. (posting from IE9)

______________________________

Restarted FF4 and it's still occurring. Also tried disabling all addons and it still occurs.

UPDATE:

The new hardware acceleration is causing this. I unchecked the "Use Hardware acceleration when available" under options and the sluggishness is no longer occurring.

Yet Another Update:

This has something to do with direct draw. I found several complaints of font rendering problems in FF4. Although I didn't see this here, I decided to try the fix.

In about:config toggle the gfx.direct2d.disabled to true.

I'll wait until a few revisions down the road.

Be aware that many of the existing add-ons DO work with 4.0 BUT you sometimes need to go to the author's website. I think Mozilla wasn't letting them post the 4.0 compatible versions until release.

I haven't installed 4.0 yet but I checked and all my plugins are available in 4.0 versions:

NoScript
FlashBlock
New Tab Homepage
URL Shrink Easy
Tree Style Tabs
Colorful Tabs

It does seem faster to me.
Note: you can move the existing toolbar items around by right clicking the top and selecting customize. Then just drag it where you want.

It drives me nuts that Firefox never puts a print icon on the tool bar by default. You have to do it yourself from the customize menu.

Oh same here, but every time I install it on a client's PC I have to manually add it. It's absurd. Why WOULDN'T you have a print icon in the tool bar? If I don't put it there I'll get a phone call within a day.
