Imagine trying to explain Spectre to the most computer illiterate person you know and realize that our Congress is worse than that.

They kept a major flaw secret for 6 months while it was patched (meltdown). They should be congratulated not raked over the coals.

The only problematic issue was they told Lenovo and, as such, that means Chinese cyber intelligence probably knew. But I can't see how you could exclude a major OEM manufacturer like that. And BTW, Lenovo was the first company to push out mitigations and firmware patches.

As for not telling the NSA, I'm good with that.
