Did you run the wizard thingy??
Oh yeah, are you running a firewall and if so, which one?

A friend has two Me machines networked and ICS works fine for him. I don't think this one is MS's fault.

Did you make the disc from the wizard and run it on the client machine?

Argh, it's SO friggin' difficult to set up ICS in WinMe. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't.
Sygate works reliably and is easy to setup.
It's easier under Win2K.
If you are sharing cable of dsl, however, the best way to do it nowadays is to use a DSL/Cable router. I really like the SMC Barricade. They're $106 at Onvia less a $20 rebate and shipping is free.

Do a search for ICS or internet connection Sharing I posted a troubleshooting guide about a month ago.

I'm a pc tech at a shop, I do about 3-15 systems a day, and i've seen problems like this, I always recommend sygate, i've yet to get ICS working, i've seen it working, but i've yet to actually get it working correctly.

Well i experienced with ICS for ADSL and Cable. I would say ICS is easier to use in Cable. For ADSL i recommand sygate.Actually ICs is more easier then sygate. At least you dont have to set up anything to let your icq to be able to received files. Right now i am using sygate for ADSL, and i have to setup for every client pc to be able to received files from icq. Abit troublesome...

well if you are using server yes you wont experience anyproblem with icq. but for client pc, they wont beable to received files with sygate... even no proxy...i have to configure so they can receive. this is the command problem face by sygate user. We can get the solution from syagte webside.
