Hardware Unboxed looks at the Best SSD for Gaming: PCIe 4.0 vs 3.0 vs SATA vs HDD Load Time Battle:

Looks like there is not much of a difference between the various SSDs. As we'd expect mechanical hard drives are a lot slower.

Those NVMe drives read speeds are an impressive 7 times faster then the SATA SSDs.

Unfortunately games aren't optimized for them, as you can see from the review's PCIe4 and 3 NVMe SSD drive results.

Hopefully the Playstation 5 load speeds will inspire the developers for PC games.

My tomb raider load times were cut by 2/3 going to NVMe drive.

Techspot has the webpage review of the Hardware Unboxed storage game loading tests: https://www.techspot.com/review/2116-storage-speed-game-loading/

Like most people I prefer to scroll down to the charts rather then search for them in the video.
