using usb webcam on home lan

this is probably simple but i want to be able to use the webcam hooked to the basement puter from the one upstairs to keep an eye on the kids :) - anybody done this? - figure just map it to the lan - any tips appreciated!

i dont know anyother way of doing this apart from using the Sub7 Trojan, it has this feature -which may i add works wonderfully over a lan, well on mine anyway

i'b be a little nervous about putting sub7 on a puter hooked to the internet - wouldn't want to see my pic in the off topic forum :)
