i was swimming down in the bahamas somewhere and looked up and saw one of those suckers about 50 feet ahead of me - looked like an eighteen wheeler even though it was probably a little shorter than that
While scuba diving in Truk about 10 - 12 years ago, we were about 100 feet down on a wreck, kinda murky visibility. The light overhead sorta just turns off as a huge shadow came over top of me about 10 feet above. It was a HUGE hammerhead, at least 12 feet long and looked every bit of 30! Needless to say, I made myself as inconspicuous as possible and was twisting my head off when we ascended a few minutes later, looking for that big sucker. Water magnifies by 25% and the brain at least doubles that again when the pucker factor comes into play!
