My newest mod...

Post by PreDatoR »

Got a UV Cold Cathode in for a review so i got some UV cables and a couple of fans to go with it. I gotta say it looks sweet as hell. Gonna get some uv paint and highlight some spots in the case as well as add 1 more UV tube and another fan... I have the CC in a goofy spot but that is where it realy lit everything up good. If i put it on the bottom it wouldn't get the top of the cables and the fans weren't real bright. If i put it in the back it would get the cables and barely get the fans because of the fan brackets. here's some pics....

i'm gonna take a strip of electrical tape i think and put on the side facing out that way i don't see the CC. Should use some reflective tape so it bounces it all back in the case instead of absorbing it

Now that I like! And it's blue too. :)

Maybe a before and after pic, showing how boring things look before the uv light. :D

what kind of rounded cables are those?
did you have to paint them?

I was thinking of doing the UV in my Antec case, cut out a nice big window on it

Well i bought them from SVC but i wouldn't recommend buying from that place right now... It doesn't seem their customer service department has a IQ higher than 50 for the time being. Not really sure where else u can buy the UV sensitive stuff either.

Try this place:

I haven't ordered anything from them, but there is some UV stuff available. Directron has some stuff too, at this link:

Check out these Rounded Electro Luminescent Cables:

Your rig looks great. IMO if you want a cool look get some UV reavtive FLEXO and tidy up those power cables. I got some from svc that is $1.50 for five feet. That's the best deal I've found.

well considering this thread is 3 months old i've already done that... :D don't have any pics and these damn uv cables after some times lose their glow i've found. the fans seem fine just the cables... But i put some UV Green Flexo on my PSU and just some blue flexo on all of my fan wires...

You looking for a hot mod idea?

PreDatoR:

I recently received an order from SVC, and I was impressed by the quality / price / speed of delivery. I don't know about their customer service support, but I was very happy. Two items in particular might interest you - The Multi Color Changing LED Acrylic Fan Grille for $4.99, and the AngelMod Cold Cathode Blue / Red fan grille for $9.99. I haven't installed this particular cold cathode fan grille yet (I put another one on my workhorse machine and it looks great), but I did install the LED Acrylic fan grille. This thing is pretty cool, except that it cycles from just changing colors to also flashing different colors. You wouldn't want to keep looking at it while it's flashing, but during the normal color cycling, this thing is great. They also have the 12" cold cathode tubes for only $3.49 (I ordered two tri-color ones); again, I haven't installed these yet, but at least they arrived unbroken. :D

color changing fan grill? CRAP!!! sombody must of found where in hongcong i was getting the leds from and startbuying them for them... that would explain why the price had dropped on them and i have been offered more "rejects". do the LEDs do this by chance? if so then thats them.
