Painting Rounded IDE cables

I'm going to be painting my case in and out in the near future, so i'm trying to be creative and figure out what i can paint and what i can't... Think i could paint my rounded IDE cables? I've been tryign to think of a reason why i couldn't, i've never seen it done. As long as i cover the pins and wires i should be good to go right?

i wouldn't recommend painting them. they flex bend are moved and most paints will chip and crack and flake off... that and the material the tubing is made out of isn't really paint friendly.

Paint would be bad. If you really wanted to change their color badly get some colored FLEXO or something from svc.com or just buy new cables they're pretty cheap nowadays

remember those cable are rubber not really plastic !
and if you do paint them the rubber might harden up !
so painting them would be a very bad idea !
