OK the inside of my case looked like hell with wires everywhere. I picked up some split loom the other day and decided to spend some time today cleaning it up . I spent about two hours cursing most of it trying to get everything looking nice. When it was all said and done it did look better but not near as nice as I had hoped. Lower part around mobo looks ok but up top by optical drives still looks like a rats nest
LOL here is a before pic that only shows a little of how bad it was
and one more just to show an overall image of my case
if the rats nest still bugs the hell outta ya.....might I suggest snipping off the extra wires you dont need/wont use?
of course that means if the PSU goes bad you cant RMA (if rmaing a PSU is possible). And if you wanna add extra crap, then you gotta resolder the wires
Looks great .. it not only improves the appearance.. it helps alot with air flow... I usually just take the extra wires and wrap them real tight with a velcro wrap and tuck them in between the psu and the back side of the case..
Yea, I also take all the extra unused wires (like those wierd unused conectors) and tuck them behind the power supply, or extra 4 pins molexes like for drives (are there ever extras?) I tuck above the top drive out of the way but easy to get to later.
My systems are still a rats nest with the ones that are used, but I plan to take care of that soon. Soon as I stop installing and removing stuff all the time
I never liked the look of split-loom cable. I usually just leave the top drive bay of my case open and stuff any extra power cables up in there. The rest get cleverly routed around or stuffed into areas where they look good. A little split-loom is ok, but some people go way overboard and it ends up looking like crap.
I want to make a puzzle with like 40,000 pieces. And when you're finished, it says something like "Go Outside"
yea, its a pain isnt it. yours looks pretty good though. but i dont know How the hedk those guys do it with them clear cases and make the look as good as they do. wtf!
Nylon Cable Sleeves are the way to go... My case was basically a box of wires with the water-cooling drive cables, and power all mixed up. You can pick up what you need to do your PSU just about anywhere but I got all my stuff from frozencpu.com. They sell a universal psu sleeve kit that isn't too hard to install. If you are doing PSU wires all you need is a small screwdriver or even a paperclip to push the little tabs in on the pins in the connectors. Just remember that the yellow wire goes on the side where there is a bump/line and the red on the opposite. As for the blacks, it doesn't matter what order they are in so long as they are between the yellow and red. For the motherboard power just use bigger nylon sleeving and work it over the connector because it's a pain in the ass to put all the wires back in once removed. Then use the good ol' electrical tape to finish that off instead of heat shrink on the ends.
To sort of see what I'm talking about I have it done on my case linked in my sig

If you can take the time to sleeve it then I'd say that is the cleanest way to go and also add extra effect if using UV sensitive sleeving like I did, you can check out what I did and a brief tutorial in my sig if your interested.
Also when I get the time to do it I plan to have the extra cables as add on's when neccessary, by chopping them off and adding appropriate connectors to the wires, kinda similar to some of the new top end mod psu's that you can buy, all you need is a few male and female molex connectors and your good to go

You can take the extra molex connectors and stuff them behind the side panel without the window. (in between the sidepanel and the mobo tray) See the picture: here.
It's rather old, but it shows the wires going to the place I described.
