I love building things and taking stuff apart so I'd rather mod it myself. That and once you screw up/finish (I know my comp is a work in progress) you can call it your own, or at least know that you screwed it up not some guy you'll never meet.

Watch out for SERIOUS static charges in that plexi case...... especially if you are in a dry climate. Good way to screw up some delicate electronic gizmos.

Yep i am modding my case.. so far i spend over 50$s ++

I did allot of wire cleaning,Bigger window.. Thicker Plexi glass.. I also tinted the window to give it the Marco look... you can still see in side.. Bought few extras for the inside :)

So far it looks better than it did before... I still need to paint the side... silver case. Black side door :)

Sounds like it's coming along...

Good idea - cleaning up the wiring. That's probably my weak spot. I try to get most of them out of the way, but next thing you know, I'm pulling something out, and it's a mess again. If I tied things up with wire mesh and tubing, it's even more of a pain to extract things. I guess it's all part of the fun.....

I opted to buy a case with a window already in it.

If I do anything else to my case, it would be giving it a blow hole.

i prefer to mod one myself ..
my first mod was a window kit and changing out the stock leds for blue ones..that one is my oldest sons now...
my second modded computer took over 6months..i took a 6 5 1/4 bay server case.. i cut a standard square window in the top half to show off the PSU ..the bottom half i cut out a harley bar and shield logo free hand..plus 2 fans on either side..plus i also stripped the case down and sprayed the inside with a black light reactive paint...then on the outside i sprayed it with a textured paint than went over that with a gloss black..and ofcourse highlighted the mb so it would glow..changed out all of the power ends with UV reactive ones..then the top off was 2 12" uv lights and 2 12" blue lights..also changed the leds in this one also..

but i have alot of time on my hands ...plus i had to wait on funds lol,but now i have shuttle and my youngest son has the big case...
