Guys:
I placed an order for a few Unreal laser-etched window kits a few minutes ago with Khara. She said the kits should be mailed out tomorrow.
My plan is to mod my second CoolerMaster ATC-710 case over the holidays. Yes, I said second case. I looked around quite a bit, and decided that my first ATC-710 just works so well for me. I could not find another case that flowed air so well, and looked so cool doing it. So I ordered one from newegg.com a few weeks ago, and it showed up last week. I won't be using the modded case right away though, as I am preparing it for some of the new stuff coming next spring. It might take me a few months to get everything installed (windows, etc.).:up

Window kits arrived today.....

Wow. I like laser-etched windows. The set I ordered a week ago arrived today, and not only are the windows real nice, even the packaging is top notch. The stuff comes bubble wrapped and then sealed in a plastic envelope. I got the Unreal Tournament symbol in two windows - shape 8 and shape 10. Next time I order, I might just do a custom design - like my wife choking me for spending all our cash on computer stuff! :argue
Now the tough part - taking the drill and tin snips to my case....Actually, the worst part is over, and that was taking out the pop-rivets that held the top of the case onto the frame. Six small ones were no sweat, but there were two big ones that took me 1/2 hour to deal with. Those last two served as mounting holes for the front face plate on this case, so I'll need to replace them with something when I re-assemble this case.*&

Apoogod:
I'm still trying to decide what windows to mount, and how to mount them. I actually have about 6 window kits, from several manufacturers. I think I'm going to use the shape 8 Unreal laser-etched window on the top, but with the transparent molding I obtained from PCMods. Then I'm going to use two 11" X 9" windows, one on each side of the case. I know what you're thinking - one side just has the back of the motherboard tray. Well, after I paint the entire case (not the outside, of course) a nice satin black, I'll have my son use florescent paints to paint a figure or a design on the back of the motherboard tray. I figured out tonight that there is just enough room for one of the two UV cold cathode lights to be tucked in that area, right along the front of the case. So that light will make the florescent design glow real nice, and another UV cold cathode light on the other side of the motherboard tray will light up the motherboard area. That leaves the shape 10 Unreal laser-etched window for another project, I guess. I was thinking about cutting a hole in the front cover of this CoolerMaster ATC-710 server case for that window, but now I'm thinking that might not look good to have a big hole there.
Anyway, I need to start cutting and painting tomorrow, as it's gonna get near 50 F - warm enough to paint!

Got a few pictures to show....

I've sent a few case pictures to Apoogod, but in the mean time, can somebody post a few pictures for me to show you guys? The pictures show the Unreal laser-etched window mounted in the top of the case, along with the side windows I've cut out. This project is starting to look real nice. If I didn't have to spend so much time with the family, I could have done a lot more by now, but you know how that goes....*&
