i was wondering if anyone could give me some advice on cutting a 8" blowhole through 0.7mm aluminium, any special tools i should be using or just the plain ol' multi-purpose.

jigsaw with a fine toothed metal blade does wonders. You'll have to use a drill and drill a hole for the blade to start out in. But it by far cuts holes the fastest and easiest of anything.

I've used these in the past and they've worked fine. They're in PDF format so that you can print off and tape onto whatever you're cutting. Come in 60,80,92 & 120mm:

Trust me don't use a hole saw or a jig saw the both cause to much damage to the case i know from expirence, use a air grinder or a dremmel with fiper cutting wheels. It will make cutting the holes easy and won't damage the case.

i used a hole saw and a jigsaw on my cases....absolutly no problems whatsoever. Except that the hole saw was a little sloppier

you won't have that with the fiber wheels and a dremmel
