hi all, i found the digi camera so i thought i would post a few pics of my newly painted comp need some ideas for the front though, thinking about painting the dark gray to black and adding some super bright red LEDs at the front behind the grill. i would put a side window in if i was that confident.
this is the best pic i got cause the light through the window, made the other pics go yellow.
Heres what i did...56K warning
I say you take some vinyl dye and paint thw white part/ drive faces black, and leave the grey - grey It would look good that way I think?
Are you doing any futher modding to it? Usaully paint is the last thing I do

no im not gonna do any more modding to it a bit further down the line i might add a window. im gonna try that vinyl dye stuff on the white part. then if it doesnt look good i can always paint the whole front part black.
And then add my LEDs, soon as i work out how to wire them up i was thinking about just creating a simple circuit with two AA batteries and a switch in the back, i would just use one of those batery holder things and stick it to the bottom of the case, that way i wont need to mess with the PSU wires.
P.S
the last time i messed with PSU wires i set the thing on fire, good thing it was just a comp i got from school they were chucking out all the old ones. pretty funny really i panicked a bit when i saw the smoke comming out the sides.

.
yeah i realised that after i posted the picture, i was gonna have another two pics on but they had a yellow tint to them cause of the light, owell done now.
FYI- A 56k warning is only neccessary when you are posting several images that are larger than 800x600. That one at 300X400 wouldnt break a dialup user

Hey I may have a 56k modem, but I do have 14.4 phone lines you know
P/s wires aren't that complecated really.
The 4 pin connector has 4 wires, yellow I think is 5v, red is 12v, Blacks are 440v
Huh, ok blacks are actually the grounds I think and should be 0v.
With the nice LEDS I bought from pugsley I can wire up 2 leds I think to a 6v battery, so probably use 2 leds and go from yellow to black wires. If you want 12v use maybe 4 leds and go red to black wires.
It's always nice to have junk to play with, I had a bad UPS with a good battery 12v, Bad aircompresser cordless type almost same 12v battery, and a rechargable flashlight 6v. I bought 100 whites from pugsley and been playing around with them some. I did fry a few so far, my fault seeing how bright they'd get and how high I could go before smokin them. They do smoke!!! I have not had one pop like a cap yet, but I smoked a few, wife said go outside to do that
Nice thing about your idea of using a battery though is you can have them on when the system is off.
