Project:Newbie UV

Post by Neoki »

Firstly im new to these boards so hey people

Hi my pc has come along a bit since i done this but its to give you lot an idea on where to start.

Hi i got my new pc pictures there from my gx-20 so a bit small
Image
I got some uv cables now Image
and im gettin dual 12" uv cathodes and dual 4" cathodes with antec orange uv fan

I still got loadz to do to it tho

[hr]
I got my Stuff through today:
Dual 12" UV Cold Cathode Image

Dual 4" UV Cold Cathode Image

Antec Orange UV Fan. Image

I plan to move the dvd rom up a slot, Put the fan next to my black one so it takes in cold air( My black takes out warm air). And place my 12" cathodes at the top and bottom of my window and tidy up a bit

Sorry for the crappy pics its cuz their from my mobile phone

[hr]
Ok now i got them i can start to mod YAY MY FIRST MOD.

Ok first lets get these wires sorted out cuz look at them
Image

Ok now their sorted out ( NOT ABOVE THATS THE BEFORE) I can take the pc apart to sort out the new Drive placement
Image

I had to take off the front panel to slide the drive out.

Here is the new position
Image

Ok thats now done and the Front pannel put back on (Picture near the end.)

Now i can place the dual 12" cathodes and connect the new Fan

Image

I have tided the cables up and all my fans now run off the spare molex instead of the board. The Antec fan has a auto senser which is connected to the board.

Ok now i have placed the side panel back on
Image

I have taken it back into my room and powerd up to see what it looks like
Image
I noticed because my window is a transparent blue not all the UV light is seen by the eye as shown in the next few photos.

[hr]
This is the fan through the window
Image

Now this is the fan without the window
Image

You can straight away tell the difference.

Now you can see cables through the window UVed up
Image

And this is a bad photo without the windows
Image

Its really cool looking and its all because of these two 12" cathodes
Image

I now have to think of a place where i can place the switche for the cathode and i have to place the 4" ones now.

here is the finished drive replacement
Image

This mod aint that big but its a start as i am new to modding. I eventually hope to be like ouja and the other top modders.
Thanks for your time reading this and please leave yout comments.
With other ideas on what to do.

....good work, especially using the phone camera. Cold cathodes work out well if you can't see the tubes when looking in the window. I like placing them along the edge of the window, or towards the front - on both sides of the drive cages. :D

good job. You can run your cables behind your motherboard to hide them as well.
