This mod is complete, but is fully documented at the Maximum PC forums ( http://www.maximumpc.com/forum/viewtopi ... sc&start=0 ) and with a download PDF build history from my site ( http://www.bigal-computers.net/bigal/Su ... e-2005.pdf ). What do you guys think? :D

....good enough to get into a magazine? I'm on a roll with the printer-to-computer (Maximum PC, February 2005) and the printer-to-computer-deja-vu (PC Extremem, issue 26). I would love to get into CPU magazine..... :cool :

...I did submit my entry a few days ago. They don't auto-reply, so you never really know if they are looking at it. I also submitted it to Maximum PC and PC Extreme magazines. Do you know of other computer-related magazines that feature a modding section? If so, please provide their titles when you get a chance.

I'm really pleased with the results too. I just wish I could get a wireless G USB adapter to work with Windows XP Professional 64-bit beta. For now I'll just use the wired Ethernet, but eventually I'll get tired of stepping over the cable in the basement.

Something extra....

A few weeks ago I added an AMD appliqu that looks sort of like a laser-etch on the window. I've had this decal for more than a year, and this was the perfect place to mount it.

One more thing.....

I worked with my oldest son to make a Sun logo (seemed logical, right?). I coated it with UV paint, but it took five coats to get this much glow out of two 4" UV cold cathodes. What do you guys think? Anybody green with envy? :D

....me? You have to be careful with logos, and Sun Microsystems is a company that is very tight with the use of their logo. We made this by hand and I don't think I want to reproduce them in any way, shape, or form. Hmmmm. My dad used to say that back in the 1980's. He's gone now however... :(

I appreciate the offer, but I don't need any Sun logos made. One is all I need. I don't have a cad file .DXF thats R12 or earlier because we modeled it using a picture found on the Internet.

The thing I am more interested in is a laser-etched window using my Big Al's Computers logo. Check my web site and you'll see it plain as day. I was going to have that logo etched into the plexiglas, above and to the right of the blower fan hole. However, http://www.xport1.com never came through with the window. Just empty promises and I'll never ask them for another thing. It turned out ok anyway, 'cause I used that AMD sticker. :)

Well I cant really do that. The machine i have acess to is much to big to be doing etching in plexi... hell that laser Xport has it probbly 100 W max mine has a hard time running at that low a power level. It idles at 480 watts. So no i cant do plexi but mild steel up to 1/2" and stainless up to about 10 gauge thinck i can cut. I can etch the steels if needed but its kinda a pain in the ass to set up right on the first try.

Lately its been bussy at work so if you have a project the winters season is the slow time when I would have pleanty of time to do side projects. There are times during the summer i can squeeze them into normal production if the conditions are right.

Let me know if you ever come up with anything that you might want to have done.
