Anybody here know anything about Scroll Saws? I've had my eye on one for a while now to do most of my case modding. At least for cutting windows and what not. I have been seeing metal blades while doing my research, but nothing that says exactly what they will cut. Is it safe to assume that they would cut your standard aluminum and steel case sidings?
TIA

Is this what you mean?
I haven't used one. Is this a good picture of what you are talking about?

Metal blades should help alot for cutting thin (sheet) metal case sides and stuff. basicly heres what you want in a saw blade:
You want at least 3 teeth to be in contact with the work at all times. So the thiner the material the closer you want the teeth to be.
Having less teeth in contact makes it harder to cut and can or will dammage the blade faster if you dont know what your doing.

So if you have 1" thick metal, and just three teeth are in contact with it (meaning rather large teeth on the blade), you'll be just fine? Maybe you need a certain number of teeth per inch of blade, and that number depends on what type of material you are cutting. How about that?

well yes but basicly 3 teeth is a pretty general rule. I used to cut 16" rounds with a blade that had 2 teeth an inch. It was an old powerd hacksaw. I have a broken blade from it... its like an .125" wide and about 4' long. I plan to eventually make a sword or something out of it...

Go see Kill Bill....
If you watch one of those Kill Bill movies (the first one, I think), they focus on the art of sword making. It's a very specialized trade. If you are successful though, nobody will mess with you in school or work!
