PC Case 3.5 Bracket Extension

Hello,

I just built a new system that throws a little heat. I have 3 case fans (blowing air into the case) and one PCI blower installed to remove the hot air. I am running a AMD 3200+ and over 2GB's ram (dual channel). An ATI 512MB graphics card. I have a Maxtor SATA 150 hard drive with a hard drive cooler. Lastly a ATA 133 WD drive that I need room to install a hard drive cooler on but I don't have the 3.5" bracket space (room also used for my floppy drive). I am searching for a 3.5" bracket extension to bolt or screw onto the 3 bay 3.5" extension that comes with the case. I have looked on the web but can't find anything. If anyone knows of a company that sells one I would appreciate any help.

Thank you,

Alissa

My .02 ditch the PCI blower, all of the really hot air ends up well above it.. Unless you've got it right under the Video Card.. You may just want to find cooler similar to your HD Cooler that just has 3 fans in the front that helps move air.. Just a thought.. GL!

Dont really have enough infoo to work on but.......

If its not allready there the PCI blower should be close to the vid card so as to remove hot air from around it and the case. Your front fans/Fans (I asmume are mounted low in the front) should intake cool air into the case and blow it toward the rear of the case and your video card. The rear fan/fans (Once again I asume they are mounted towards the top half of the case) should suck hot air from the case and blow it out the rear thus pulling cool air from the lower fans up past the HD and CPU and out the back.

I personally run 1 12o mm fan up front as an intake along with an 80mm mounted in the lower front side as an intake both fans blow cool air in andacross my HD's ( 2 WD SATA 150's) and back towards the rear of my case. I then have another 120mm fan on the upper rear of the case as exhaust along with the dual 80mm fans in my power supply as exhaust and another 80mm fan in the top of my case as exhaust. Also I run an Artic freezer 64 pro heatsink with its 80mm fan blowing air through the heatsinkand towards the rear exhaust fan. My cpu is am AMD 3700+ 939 overclocked to 2.5ghz and runs at idle at 38c and around 47c when playing any games such as COD2 or BF2.

I know the above didnt answer our question about the 3.5 inch extenstion (which you would probably best find by scavaging another case for one) but I think if you rethought out your fan cooling your probably would not need the HD coolers anyway.

Thank you!

Thanks for your help guys. I found a 3.5" extension. I removed it from a old case. The only problem was it had one side that I drilled 2 holes in for mounting purposes. Th other side had no way of securing it to the existing extension. I had to get creative and used a block of wood sitting underneath the bracket, but it works. As far as that PCI bracket blower it is mounted under my graphics card. The two hard drives run at 26 to 35 degrees celsius. That is 20 degrees below (55) the manufactures settings. I like to keep things cool if I can. Thanks again for your help. This is a great forum.
