Hey Guys, did a review on the Antec Overture.. This is one VERY nice case! Check it out!

When you think of “new” PC enclosures, you think of the big towers that most people have come to love. Well, our friends at Antec have brought back a little piece of the past with the Antec Overture. They have brought back the old desktop design in this new case. It’s elegantly styled and has a high gloss finish that even a person who doesn’t know anything about computers can admire and enjoy. But, not only is it pretty, it’s also versatile. And following in the footsteps of it’s counterpart the Antec Sonata it’s also very quiet! No more blaring the radio or the TV so that you don’t have to listen the constant whirr of the fans. Now you can hear your surroundings as they were meant to be heard, without the whirr of all the fans in your case.

Hi!

I have an Overture case, and I definitely like its looks and quietness, but I did find some problems. Maybe I have an off unit or something.

* With my ASUS P4C800-E Deluxe motherboard and the default standoffs, my AGP and PCI cards (ATI Radeon Pro 9800 and Audigy 2) seem to make contact with the case lid (?)... so definitely don't want to put a monitor on one of these... also, that means there's nowhere for the hot air to escape to from the slots.

* There's just not really enough ventiliation for something like a Pentium 4 (even if not overclocking and using a big heatsink). The one intake fan on the power supply is pretty much blocked right away by the supports for the front 3.5" drives and all the cables running through that little passageway between the PSU and the front 5.25" drive cage.

* It'll be hard to use a different power supply (like one with multiple fans) since it's surrounded on almost all sides by metal.

...all that said, I'm still trying to work with mine to keep using it.

But I know very little about the new P4's and their mobo's.. Do they sit up higher than an AMD board? I wouldn't think so? Are you using the standoffs that came with the motherboard? I installed a GF4 Ti4400 in mine last night and had no problems with clearance. I have a 17" monitor sitting on top of mine right now. I do however, as stated in the review, agree with you on the cooling. I've got an AMD 1700+ in there right now that's OC'd to 1.83ghz and it's definatly a lot warmer than I like, but it's working. I plan on changing some things out with it. But I think for the average user who would only be using stock cooling it should be fine. eGo

I think I'm using the standoffs came with the Overture case itself (at least I thought they did, otherwise they came with the P4C800-E motherboard) -- they stand 5/16" above the standoff bubbles in the base of the case. My P4 seemed to soar into the lower 50C's with the stock Intel heatsink/fan, so I switched to a Thermalright SLK800U and am getting a more powerful case fan. I'll try to see if the motherboard itself had special standoffs, too.

I am trying to put a MSI Kt3 Ultra mobo in this case , and the **** ps main cable to MB connector is too short. The power connector on this MB is top left, where most all are? Got any ideas.

4" more and all would be great. (Where have I heard that b4?)

I hadn't thought of that possibly being a problem.. A quick look at The Egg and I found this. It's a few spots down.. Looks like it's just the 4" you're looking for..

Hi All,

I just purchased an Overture case myself.

My motherboard will be a Gigabyte GA-7N400 PRO2 with a XP2500 (Barton) CPU.

I will be using a Thermalright SLK-900A Heatsink with a Panaflo 92mm Fan so I hope that the supplied case fan will be OK.

I will not be over-clocking and this PC will be a Media PC as part of my home theater, so I want the system to be as quite as possible.

I'm sorry, I really couldn't tell you. I've never even owned a P4. You might try checking http://www.antec.com though as they do have several reviews on their site and somebody who reviewed it was bound to use a P4. GL

Please reply as to your experience as this motherboard for me overvolts my amd 3000 and it runs a lot hotter then I want it too.

I've had an OCd rig in it.. But it just kept things running very warm. There isn't a lot of intaketo bring in any cool air, just one fan. So I still don't know how great it will handle the temperatures.. I can say that it's a nice looking case, but you may also want to note that when using Full Height Vid Cards they have a tendancy to hit the top of the case when it's closed.. So if you were to set a monitor on top of the computer it could case problems.. GL! eGo

i have no idea if this will fit...i have asked in a danish forum but seems like no one has used this case as a big machine. So anyone got an idea?
