hello all!, i want to upload or allow access to certain files so that i can allow anouther pc to download em over the net!.....i know this is old skool...but any ideas??

If you want someone to have access to your pc ??? you could use pcanywhere or a similar app. There are lots of places you can upload files where folks can get to them - rapidshare, fileplanet, megaupload etc.

sort of depends on what you want to upload

running a FTP server would also work; be forewarned that most residential ISP's prohibit running servers so check the specifics of your ISP's policy.

i like bulletproof ftp server, but here is a free alternative:

http://www.cerberusftp.com/


if you have a WWW domain, you can use a remote dns service such as dyndns but you could just point an ftp client to your WAN IP to connect.
