I searched the board and it's apparently been a few years since we've discussed this. I'm looking for a new VPN service. Any out there that you all are using or would recommend?

Re: VPN recommendations
I've been using proXPN since 2016. Works very well. I grabbed a lifetime license for cheap when it went on sale.

Re: VPN recommendations
I did the same but it hasn't been working very well for me. Are you using their app or something?

Re: VPN recommendations
Windows App on my laptop and a VM I use for Torrents. Never used it on Android. Download speeds are good. There used to be a bit of DNS latency but I fixed that by setting up Firefox to use DNS-over-HTTPS which helped a lot.
Location makes a difference too. I generally use Toronto, Canada.
I easily get 2GB/s downloads.

Re: VPN recommendations
Strange. I use Toronto as well, as that used to be the best one for me.
I need to investigate this further.

Re: VPN recommendations
I also have the proxpn license but dont use it much since it suffers quite a bit speedwise for me too. I'll have to poke at it some more if Bob's is running well.
Re: VPN recommendations
I've found Toronto and Singapore servers worked well in the past. I'm gonna set it up on a fresh VM I just spun up.
Re: VPN recommendations
anyone using a router based VPN?
Re: VPN recommendations
I use my Edgerouter X for VPN. It's a basic L2TP IPSec VPN. My home upload is only 20Mbps, so performance isn't awesome, but it gets the job done for browsing and checking the home security cams while traveling.
Re: VPN recommendations
I mean, I host a VPN server on my pfsense router that I connect to when out and about and I want to keep data private. Not sure if that's what you are asking about.
