At one time, the laptop could be found (seen) by my other PCs on the network but not anymore (probably since getting a new HDD last fall, re-doing the whole shooting match).
All Win2K PCs, The protocals are all the same, file sharing enabled, has DSL cable router but double checked those settings, double checked settings in ZA Pro and everything looks as it it should.
The laptop can find (see) and other networked PC but none can locate the laptop. There is 2 way communication between the laptop and others, I can move files in either direction once I connect FROM the laptop only. I've tryed it shutting ZA off (all PCs involved too) so that's not it.
There has to be a setting on my laptop that's keeping it from being found by the other PCs. Any ideas what I might be over-looking?

It still remains one of those "networking mysteries" to me. IMHO, I'm not ignorant to networking PCs anymore as "The Master" Flying Penguin (and others here) have educated me well on this stuff over the years BUT I occasionally run into some sort of networking oddities that seem to defy logic from time to time. It's often just one little thing when networking multiple computers that for some reason isn't quite like it should be.
The same laptop use to be seen by my other PCs before its last OS makeover (due to it being accidentally dropped, HDD replaced). I've checked all the protocols and settings, having the laptop next to the other PCs, checked the IP address info in programs like ZA Pro, SMC IP address settings (done when initially setting it up), computer management user settings YET everything looks to be in order.
It's not a major thing really as I can see the other PCs from the laptop, send/share files from it TO the other PCs but it's just odd that non of the other PCs can find the laptop at all when looking through "My network places" or doing a "search for computers".
I suppose I could try to ping the laptop from another PC but I'm not sure that'd solve anything anyway.

I had the same problem with a Win2k machine. I believe it's a problem with discovery in Win2k. All the other machines on the network could see each other except that one. As soon as I upgraded it to XP, suddenly everyone could see it again.
I could however connect via the IP. \\192.168.100.5/Shared, etc.
