aol dsl w/ actiontec usb modem
hey just a question, but if anyone has this service maybe you could help... ive noticed when i have the modem enabled, it slows down my computers general performance in anything it does, when i disable it ( via network places ) my comp is fine. does anyone know anything about why this is? is it b/c of the usb aspect of the modem?
omg i wins!

thats AOL for you.....
Yes...i am willing to bet that the problem is becuase of the USB
My cousins have the USB modem with their AOL dsl... (its the little green one that looks like a stingray) and ever since the modem was installed...their system has had nothing but probs
one major one is that no matter what I try...I cant get their computer to shut down when the modem is connected
My advice....ditch that modem and get one that connects to your comp via the ethernet/NIC and NOT the usb
