The 'internet of things' is sending us back to the Middle Ages
Christians warn us about the anti-christ for 2,000 years, and when he shows up, they buy a bible from him.

Thus why I don't do 'internet of things".

Same here. If its IOT it either does not get connected and if it requires a connection to work I don't buy it.

Only IOT at new house will be Ring doorbell (and they have an outstanding record for security and addressing flaws) and the security camera DVR. Both will be on an untrusted network isolated from the main network through a VLAN.
More worried about the CCTV dvr than anything else. They are constantly finding security issues with those. I will probably only give it internet access through a VPN. No need to let the whole world see it.
BTW keep in mind that IOT applies to media devices like Rokus and your Blu Ray players. All that stuff has the potential for security holes.

I don't allow my media devices to connect either. They're all upset at me.
