If your result is OPEN then I would strongly suggest you get the latest firmware upgrade or toss the router.

Was worried that port is around what I'm using for ATCS (railroad signaling) packets.

In theory, the only routers you'd have to worry about are the ones that have a USB port for a printer, but worth checking in case the code is in there even if the port is not.
