ok im thinking of gettin one to replace my 440 mx. What i want to know is this:
unlike the GF4 440 mx that doesnt have the stuff (shaders and crap) that the GF4 Ti serries has, Does the FX 5200 have the stuff the GF4 Ti serries has?
If so then i plan to get one. im on a budget and this seems like the 440 of the time.
Gf Fx 5200
Gf Fx 5200

the 5200 and usually the 5600 are slower then a gf4 4200. while they do have everything the faster ones do from what I understand they are SO under powered it isnt funny.

The plain 5200 is a dog but it is DirectX 9 compliant. They'll be able to run such games at 5 fps.
I'm throughly unimpressed with the GeForceFX line {as most people are} and haven't recommended one yet. Heck, the only GeForce card lately I have advised people to get is the GeForce 4 Ti4200. A big part of the reason is ATI basically has Nvidia beat at every market segment.

I'm not an expert on VC but I got a gf 5200 fx , and works a million better than my old 440 , and also has that crap ...... anisotropic x8 etc. it's a good one as far as I know.

FX5200 8x vs. Ti4200 4x
Is the FX5200 8x better than a ti4200 4x? I have the ti4200 in my computer now, but just bought an FX5200 for a box I'm building for the kids. If the FX 5200 is better, I'll swap them out. The reason I ask is that my mobo is an ASUS a7n8x deluxe that supports 8x AGP, and the other board is an old Soyo Dragon+ that only supports 4x AGP. Will the difference in AGP speeds make a difference in performance?
PootDog:
Keep the Ti4200, there's no difference between 4xAGP or 8xAGP. The FX5200 is still much slower than the Ti4200, you might want to check out some numbers from this review at Anandtech.
Friends don't let friends buy a FX5200
