Cool article. Yeah shader compiling is becoming a bottleneck. Even on my beefy gaming system, Dead Space Remake took quite a while to pre- compile the shaders on the first run, and I suspect it's doing a lot of shader compiling on the fly as you approach doors. Turning around near a door can cause a some hitching, and that game is just banging on the CPU at 70-90% all the time.

Hogwarts Legacy took a long time to compile the shaders too. I thought the game had locked up.
