Got a P3 650mhz, Slot 1, on an ASUS P3V4X, running at 806...can't get it any higher, Using 128MB of Crucial RAM 133Mhz, only running at 124mhz, to OverCLock the 100mhz bus CPU.

Running a V3 3000, also Overclocked...Everything is totally stable. I get 3316 on 3DMark at Mad Onion.

Okay, what card will max out this platform...I figure I will keep this set in tact, maybe go up to a p3 933, lose the overclocking. and be done.

go with a Geforce 2 (Leadtek)
or go the distance with an Ultra...will the gains be apparent when I move up on the cpu?

or save the cash, and get the LeadTek for under $200

I pretty much play only FPS...

thanks

get a 64mb radeon. you'll be happier with that than a Geforce :)

Thanks...so don't go with the hype eh?

Are the ATI cards really that good, or am I just hornswaggled by all the GeForce hype?

I dumped my geforce 2 GTS after playing with the MUCH cheaper Radeon card. It's a little slower (so little you won't care), but the visual quality is MUCH better. It also eliminates the need for a H+ dvd decoder card (also saving $$$). Many other members of the board have done the same thing.
