If you have any tweaks or an interesting setup, leave it here.

FYI: There are some new beta drivers out for the Radeons (version 7041) that can be had at http://www.rageunderground.com. I'm using them and they seem stable in addition to getting a bit higher #'s in 3dMark2k.

I had some weird corruption problems with the 7021's & ended up switching back to the 7020's.

I'm about to recieve my AIW 32meg Radeon. I was curious if DX8 is really an improvement on this card? Should I even bother installing it? Is there anything else I should know about this card? I should be recieving it around Monday or Tuesday.

dx 8

DX 8 doesn't relly make much difference at this point, but it doesn't hurt anything either.

I have it installed in both W2K & Win98SE with my 64meg VIVO & it works fine.

I just installed the "Special Purpose" drivers and I recieved a GREAT DEAL of improvement. Near 10-12 fps in q3. I suggest ya try 'em out if you haven't already.

[edit]
Just noticed something. I usually have my start bar on "auto-hide" but when you play any 3d accelerated games in resolutions above the windows desktop resolution, you will see the start bar when playing. You can get rid of this by making sure "auto-hide" is NOT checked. Wierd and kinda annoying fix, but atleast it fixes it.

DX8 DOES make a huge difference. Maybe not in fps, but it does in the games that you couldn't play on win2k before, but can play now. I have a couple such games, and I'm quite happy that dx8 was released, considering that win2k server is my only OS...
