Got a friend who's having probs installing the latest Det driver on his new Gainward GF4 T4200. Gainward drivers work fine but he says he gets an error when trying to install the Dets and it fails: "unable to locate detected devices PCI ID in NVIDS.CFG"

I assume the Gainward just uses the reference design, right? I'll be taking a look at it next week.

Yes Gainwards GF4 T4200 should be able to run Detonator drivers.

Oh it's a real friend. If it was mine I'd just try it and see what happens. But he's dropping it off for 2 1/2 hours today while he's in town so I don't have much time.

No I don't post the "a friend" messages unless it's really a friend. I don't mind saying if it's my issue.

And the problem with being an IT tech is that suddenly you have a LOT of friends with computer problems who need a favor....

Turned out he HAD installed the Dets but he left some of the Gainward utilities installed and that was probably causing some problems.

I noticed there was a new Detonator driver today too, so I installed that since it's supposed to help with Morrowind.
