TNT and Apollo Pro mobo?

My kid's box has a Soyo mobo with a Via Apollo Pro chipset.
He is getting a little tired of the rendition card that is in it and I am thinking of picking up a TNT or TNT2 for him.
I recall that there were some horrendous incompability problems with TNT cards and Via chipsets. Is that so? Will a TNT card work on this mobo?

those problems have since gone away. Via's 4 in 1 and Nvidia's latest drivers have fixed them.

Don't put a TNT/TNT2 card on an ALI board though... yikes what a mess
