Difference Between 6800XT and 6800LE?

Post by GuardianAsher »

Not too long ago, I got an Asus 6800XT card (as shown in specs). I was getting heat problems with it, so I pulled it out to apply some Arctic Silver 5. While I was cleaning the thermal paste off, I noticed wording on the chip. It distinctly says GeForce 6800LE, not XT. What's the difference?

According to this page the XT has faster core and memory speeds.

425/1000 for the XT vs. 300/700 for the LE.

Well, crap... I'm glad I only got this as a temporary card until I get a PCI-E rig... but still, this kind of pisses me off.

Hi..

Just wondering what a PCI-E rig is? Oh yeah...I dont much like my 6800XT's either..and hell, I got TWO of um :( I'm wanting to upgrade them but the thing is I have to buy 2 cards not just one..I dont have I guess but I like having the SLI configuration...It looks cool in my system especially after all the UV sleeves and LED Molexes I just installed. I wish you guys could see it..Later,

Joey

You're running PCI-E. AKA, PCI Express. ^^
