Disable hardware acceleration in Firefox to fix blurry fonts

Post by FlyingPenguin »

I was having an issue with blurry fonts in Firefox on the new BBS. Turns out it's a hardware acceleration issue. Disabled hardware accel in Firefox (Options -> Advanced - uncheck "Use hardware acceleration when available"). Then restart Firefox to take effect.

I remember back in the day we had to disable hardware accel to fix a lot of issues. Looks like it still applies.

Notice the lower case "w"? It was annoying the heck out of me.

I have it checked and I can see the "w" just fine.

Might be an Nvidia thing. I did try updating the driver but that didn't help.

Oh, it also only happened at one particular browser zoom level. Of course it was the zoom I wanted to use.

I'm inclined to believe it was zoom-related. I'm running Nvidia as well.
