I want to believe. My fear is that single core performance will pale in real world applications against Intel's offerings.
I wish motherboard manufacturers would stop putting SATAe ports on the board and just put an M.2. These usually get disabled when you add an M.2 anyway and nobody is using SATAe drives.
Hopefully the AM4 boards are reasonably priced. The X370 board needs to be about the $150 to $170 mark. The 8 core needs to be sub $450, IMO. If they're too much more, you may as well go with an X99 board and an I7 5820 or 6800.
