NVidia has started including a telemetry service in it's video drivers that's installed even if you only install the basic driver and nothing else.
In my case, this telemetry service was causing my gaming PC to boot rather slowly to the desktop (seems to be a known issue). While you can manually disable the service and tasks in the Task Manager, this tool makes it simple: https://www.ghacks.net/2017/06/07/softw ... telemetry/
Manual instructions here if you want to do it yourself:

Needless to say, you probably need to do this again if you install new drivers.

Christians warn us about the anti-christ for 2,000 years, and when he shows up, they buy a bible from him.

Seems they've been doing this for some time, no? The article is 2 years old and updated a year ago. Sneaky 'lil bastards.

Yeah. My workstation is running an older driver and only had the service but nothing in the task scheduler.
Pity they're doing this. This crap should be in the optional Geforce Experience bloatware.
