NVIDIA Thinks These GPUs Are Worthless

Post by FlyingPenguin »

I agree with Linus that these cards are still quite usable.

I have two EVGA GTX 760 Superclocks on the shelf I use for testing and troubleshooting systems with no integrated video. I had one temporarily installed in my new gaming PC, for testing before installing the RTX 3080, and playing on my workbench 1400x900 monitor, I could play all kinds of AAA titles at medium settings with good frame rates.

Having no game ready driver updates doesn't prevent 700 series cards from playing most games. Game ready just adds tweaks for specific newer games. Usually they're still playable on older drivers. The only issue you'll have is very new games that specifically require more than 2GB of VRAM or full DirectX12 support. All the games I currently play ran fine on it, it's just not going to do 1440p.
